About Young Artists Foundation
YAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN #92-3321596) that provides young instrumentalists with rigorous mentorship in chamber ensemble playing at a conservatory level. Students age 8–18 develop deep musical insight, technical precision, and artistic discipline under the guidance of internationally-recognized performers and educators. Our Chamber Music Institute serves to complement students' existing private studies through ensemble playing. By organizing talent locally, YAF increases access to high-level music making to more Bay Area communities.
Mission
Young Artists Foundation's mission to cultivate the next generation of great minds through classical classical music, by instill the habits of excellence that lead to success in any paths they choose.

History
YAF was founded by graduates of The Juilliard School to bring an exemplary young musicians' training program to the San Francisco Bay Area. Inspired by the now-defunct elite division of the Los-Angeles-based Young Musicians Foundation (YMF), which ran from 1952–2017 producing many of today's classical music leaders, YAF resumes where the original YMF left off. Within its first year, YAF gained 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.

Since its inception, YAF has curated dozens of classical music events, including guest-artist masterclasses, chamber music recitals, and solo performances to promote student development. We invite you take part in this work by applying as a student, making a tax-deductible contribution, or attending a future event.
