About Young Artists Foundation
Young Artists Foundation (YAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to training pre-college strings and piano students in chamber music at conservatory standards. Through ensemble playing, students learn teamwork, accountability, and most importantly, how to listen to one another.
Each season, YAF curates numerous concerts, lectures, and events for students and local communities to engage with the arts.
Mission
Every young person should should spend their youth learning something difficult. YAF's mission is to cultivate the next generation of great minds through classical music. We believe rigorous training in the arts instills in students universal habits of excellence that translate to future success, no matter what paths they choose.

History
YAF was founded by experienced leadership in music administration, fine-arts patronage, and conservatory alumni to bring an exemplary young musicians' training program to the San Francisco Bay Area. Continuing the tradition of Young Musicians Foundation's former elite division in Los Angeles, which from 1952 until its closure in 2017 produced many of today's classical music leaders, YAF maintains similar training environments and unwavering standards for future generations to come.
Since its founding, YAF and its faculty have supported students who have gone on to higher education programs and beyond, including The Juilliard School, American University, UC Berkeley, Caltech, Carnegie Mellon University, Harvard, and NYU studying a variety of majors.
