By studying with internationally-recognized performers and educators, students age 8–18 develop deeper musical insight, artistic discipline, and thoughtful approaches to artistic expression beyond the practice room.
Mission
YAF's mission to cultivate future generations of great minds through classical classical music. We believe student achievement in artistic training instills universal habits of excellence in any paths they choose. By focusing on Chamber Music, we seek to develop team players who can listen, learn, and lead.

In addition to demonstrating fostering aspects of music performance, YAF organizes and builds extensive networks for students to gain access to mentors, fellow dedicated students, and future colleagues.

History
YAF was founded by arts administrators, patrons of fine arts, and graduates of The Juilliard School who sought to bring an exemplary young musicians' training program to the San Francisco Bay Area. Following in the footsteps of the elite division of Young Musicians Foundation (YMF) in Los Angeles which from 1952 until its closure in 2017 produced many of today's classical music leaders, YAF resumes where YMF left off.

Each year, YAF produces dozens of classical music events, including chamber music concerts, guest-artist masterclasses, and solo recitals to promote student development. We invite you take part in this work by applying as a student, making a tax-deductible contribution, or attending a future performanc.
