Masterclasses at YAF
Masterclasses bring students, artists, and audiences together in public learning environments. Decades of refinement through unbroken lineages often tracing to the composers themselves are passed on to students before an audience, one musical phrase at a time.

What Happens during a YAF Masterclass
Masterclasses combine short concert-style ensemble performances, workshops with the artist, and brief discussion between the artist and audience.

By the time students appear in a masterclass, they have worked on their repertoire since the beginning of the season. Ensembles ready for public presentation are invited to participate.

In addition to YAF faculty, past guest artists have included violinists Nancy Zhou and Eric Silberger, and cellist Khari Joyner.
