Applying to YAF
Applications for Midyear Entry to the remaining 2026–2027 Season (January – April 2027) are due November 15, 2026.
Please review all eligibility, requirements, and FAQs below carefully prior to requesting application materials, including audition excerpts which. Excerpt packets are provided by email within 24–48 hours by filling out the excerpt request form below.
An application fee of $85 is due upon completed application submission for review.

Audition Excerpts
Excerpts demonstrate technical mastery, musical maturity, and habits of advance individual preparation needed to succeed in chamber music. They are required for ensemble placement for:

Excerpts are selected from major works in from the standard repertoire and represent broadly levels of increasing technical mastery and musical maturity. New applicants to YAF are only required to prepare the Level 1 excerpt, but may elect to pursue more advanced repertoire during the season by preparing up to the highest level excerpts of their choosing.
To ensure fairness in preparation, each applicant receives a new set of excerpts each application cycle, not to be repeated from their past repertoire. Parents of applicants must request excerpts ahead of time by completing the request form below. Please allow 1–2 business days for an email response with an attached pdf from info@yafmusic.org. If it does not appear in your inbox, please remember to check your spam or promotions folder.
