Mission

Young Artists Foundation's mission to cultivate the next generation of great minds through rigorous classical music training, performance, and mentorship. By presenting public concerts, masterclasses, and educational programs in communities across the region, we seek to help shape the Bay Area into not only a global center for technological innovation, but a thriving hub for fine arts.

History

YAF was founded in 2023 by graduates of The Juilliard School to bring an exemplary young musicians' training program to the San Francisco Bay Area. Inspired by the now-defunct elite division of Young Musicians Foundation (1952-2017) in Los Angeles, whose former chamber music program had produced many of today's classical music leaders, YAF resumes where the original YMF left off. Through the Chamber Music Collective, YAF presented its first student concert in August 2024.

In November 2024, YAF launched the first of its Guest-Artist Masterclass Series, bringing in internationally-performing artists to share their insights with our students.

Entering its third season, YAF added woodwind ensembles to the Chamber Music Collective, and expanded student performances opportunities through Solo Recitals.
